Contract clause finder

Finds the relevant clause across every agreement, quotes it with the document and page, explains it in plain words labelled as not legal advice, and builds a comparison table when more than one contract matches. A person or a lawyer decides what to do.

Is this you?

Have you ever been surprised by a renewal, a notice period or a liability cap you had signed?Yes, that’s us. Build it →Not really. Show me the next one

What it does, step by step

  1. 1A question or a clause type is entered (notice period, liability cap, renewal, exclusivity)
  2. 2The clause taxonomy maps it to the terms and headings to search for
  3. 3All contracts in the store are searched; matching clauses are returned with document name and page
  4. 4Each clause is quoted exactly, then summarised in plain words with a "not legal advice" label
  5. 5Where several contracts match, a comparison table is built
  6. 6Contracts where nothing matched are listed as "no clause found" rather than omitted
  7. 7A person or a lawyer reads the quotes and decides

What you’ll learn building it

  • Ask for a clause type and get the exact words quoted back
  • Compare the same clause across several contracts in one table
  • Label every plain-language summary as not legal advice

What you’ll need

All agreements as searchable PDFs, scans OCR'dA naming convention applied to every fileA list of clause types that matter to youA lawyer or a senior person who makes the decision

Where it goes wrong

A scanned contract without OCR is invisible, and the agent cannot find what it cannot read. Research on contract review finds model accuracy still depends heavily on design and data, which is why this agent informs and a person decides.

One example

A 60-person IT services firm in Hyderabad holds 45 client and vendor agreements. When a client threatened early termination, the finance head needed every notice and termination clause the same day. With contracts named by counterparty and date and scans run through OCR, the finder returned 38 clauses with pages and a table of notice periods; seven contracts were listed as "no clause found". Their lawyer worked from the table. a two-day reading job took forty minutes, and three auto-renewal dates nobody had tracked surfaced on the way.
